How to get there

(& Medea)

About (& Medea):

She lived a life before the tragedy. It's time we hear about it. In a timeless and poetic retelling of Euripides’ infamous play, a Greek chorus guides us through the details of Medea’s life and love. In this version, we get to know her for who she was before she committed an act that would become the defining moment of her narrative forever.

Accompanied by the sounds and movements of water, we set out to reconstruct the image of a woman history has deemed purely a villain. We set out to offer her the things she was never truly given: context, history, and her love story.

(& Medea) Food Drive: As a company, we believe access to food is a human right. At every performance of (& Medea), we will be accepting canned food donations - all products will be donated to a local food pantry in the Philadelphia area. As an additional incentive, for donations of at least two canned food items, we will send you a digital copy of our 2025 Amalgamation Patch - a limited edition art design representing our company for the 2025 production year.

ACCESSIBILITY INFORMATION: At this time, there is no accessible entrance into this venue. There are 9 steps up to the front door, and an additional 18 steps to the restroom once inside. All chairs at this venue are metal folding chairs. Accessible seats are corner aisle seats in the front and back rows of our seating. These provide easy entrance and exit to your seat, as well as additional leg room in the aisle if necessary. While we unfortunately cannot provide entrance to the building for those unable to use stairs, we have livestream tickets available for both our Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon performances. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at amalgamationtheatreco@gmail.com

About Amalgamation Theatre Collective:

Amalgamation Theatre Collective believes the work of theatre artists should be infused with whimsy, joy, and wonder akin to children playing. We strive to redefine the life of creatives as an opportunity for joy and engagement.

Amalgamation builds new opportunities and artistic spaces for artists that are accessible, equitable, experimental, and safe. We believe that any artist looking to share their work deserves the chance to do it, and any audience member looking for a community to engage in should be welcome in it.

There will always be a want and a need for more spaces to create. When there wasn’t a place for us, we made it. Every artist deserves to take space, so we will continue to make it – spaces to experiment, take risks, and make theatre in places you may not expect. Everyone fits into the Amalgamation.
